During the recent ANGACOM in Cologne, the Gridsz team had a chance to catch up with an exciting new German customer, VitrumFiber.
VitrumFiber provides the development and leasing of turnkey fiber optic networks for network operators, internet service providers and municipal utilities that offer internet services. They handle everything from the planning and financing to construction and maintenance, creating fiber networks from backbone to the households. As a provider of what they have termed ‘fiber as a service,’ VitrumFiber understands the importance of an efficient and reliable system to the success of their core business.
That is why VitrumFiber recently chose to invest in the Gridsz Platform for their fiber network resource management. Using Gridsz for their network management will allow them to fully automate connection availability, order processing, monitoring and service, and do all of that with optimal efficiency.
Highly effective support for recurring tasks, for complex workflows and for incident management
As Dr. Marc Hennemann, Managing Director of VitrumFiber, puts it, “Gridsz is a powerful tool that will help us sell connections faster, sharing addresses with partners as they become available. It will also provide us with highly effective support for recurring tasks, for complex workflows and for incident management. And all of that takes place on the foundation of direct connectivity to our chosen asset management system, Cocon Fiber. This way, we know we are always working from the most accurate network data, because it is continuously updated to the Gridsz Platform.”
Another important aspect of the system that VitrumFiber was looking for is the ability to coordinate construction and post-connection orders with maximum efficiency and easy communication. From the Gridsz Platform, they can quickly and easily share addresses and availability with their customers and communicate orders to their contractors. Every addition or change to the network is then updated directly to their asset registry and management system Cocon.
Continuous synchronization
This easy communication with all parties is especially useful for the type of long-term partnerships that VitrumFiber has with their customers. Many of those are municipal and public works , such as Stadtwerke Rostock AG, where VitrumFiber is currently building modern broadband networks in three municipalities.
Vereena Schoonen, Chief Operating Officer at Gridsz, adds, “The continuous synchronization of all data in every system completes the circle for VitrumFiber. It ensures that they always have one single source of truth about their network status. We are very happy that Gridsz can provide this kind of support for VitrumFiber’s core business success!
