Gridsz notification management allows the site admin users to configure notifications to assist their operations and information flows. In other words, practically every type of scenario should be configurable for a notification. This should range from a simple notification via mail to an assigned user when the SLA is about to expire, to notifying several user groups via both mail and sms when a new Network Incident has been created on POP level.
Specific parameters can be setup in a five step process for each notification to clearly outline:
- Notifications specifications
- When the notification is send
- Whom the notification recipients are
- What communication method & Which layout to use for this notification
- Summary of setup

Step 1: Notification specifications
In the first step the basic information about the notification is entered:
- Name: name of the notification
- Description: add more detailed description of the notification if desired
- Network Owner: depending on your permissions you can determine for what parties this notification is active
- Module: to what module in Gridsz the notification applies
- Task: define if the notification applies to the parent or the child task
- Task type: select the task type
Step 2: Triggers and conditions
Setup your triggers and conditions, feel free to combine multiple triggers and condition to get notified exactly when you want to:
- Type: define a trigger type for the notification
- Value: define the value for the type that actives the trigger
- AND/OR: if you define more than one trigger define either an AND or OR condition that is applied between te triggers
- [+]: add more triggers.
Step 3: Recipients
The options range from notifying the assignee of the task, notifying a specific group of users, or notifying manually added users. You can add several or a combination of different groups and users. This way, your organization has a very effective method of managing precisely whom the notifications gets sent too, without notifying entire organizations by accident.
- To: define if the recipient is Gridsz user or external
- Value: either enter an external email or select the Gridsz user.
- [+]: add more recipients
Step 4: Communication channel and template
By default the two options are either via E-mail or via SMS, and a limited number of templates will be available for each PO to choose from.
- Via: select the communication channel (currently only email is available)
- Template: select the email template depending on your setup. Generally Task updated suits most setups.
- Preview: the eye icon allows you to preview the template after you have selected one.
Step 5: Summary
Once you have completed the previous 4 steps, Gridsz shows you the summary of your setup allowing you to validate your inputs and if required, make changes before activating the notification.
